Common Hour Jazz – Faculty Quartet

For September’s Common Hour Jazz, members of the Faculty Jazz Quartet performed an exciting combination of their own compositions – “And Then, This” by Dr. Justin Morell, “Daily” by Dr. Jeffrey Lovell, “Chrysalism” by Professor Ryan Kuhns, “Never Enough Time” by Professor Larry Marshall, and “Riddled” by Dr. Justin Morell. The pieces, each with a unique energy characteristic of their composer, ranged from the mysterious groove of “Chrysalism” to the caffeine-jolt drive of “Never Enough Time.” I’d say you just had to be there, but rumor has it that an LVC Faculty Jazz album, featuring these tunes and more, may be coming out this spring… stay tuned.
