Mt. Gretna Play Music on Your Porch Day Concert

One week into the semester, and the Valley Jazz Orchestra already has one performance under their belts. After only two rehearsals, the prospect of putting on a full set might be daunting for the average college musician, but this gig-life pacing is the usual rhythm for members of VJO. This and other VJO gigs out in the community are an opportunity for the ensemble to focus on standard jazz repertoire, including hits like “Tuxedo Junction,” “Mood Indigo,” and “Willow Weep For Me.” These concerts are also a chance to feature the Valley Jazz Orchestra’s vocalist, Sienna Brooks, on some vocal jazz classics.
